Determined the deck height was -.060" I'm building for a 7.0:1 compression ratio in case I have to resort to auto fuel. I'm near sea-level so the slight reduction in power with 7:1 compression should not be a problem. The total cylinder shim thickness needs to be .31" according to the assembly manual. This used up all the shims provided in the kit.
Cleaned the cylinder bores, pins and pistons. Checked the ring gaps, installed one piston pin retainer into each piston, rotated the ring gaps to about 120 deg apart, and installed the pistons into the cylinders.
Next step is to put Permatex on the cylinder spacers and slide on the cylinders.
